Engineering Tools
Estimate the weight of plate, bar, tube and angle across common engineering metals. Useful for freight, handling and material costing. Switch between US and metric units.

Weight is volume multiplied by material density. The calculator computes the cross-sectional geometry of the shape you choose, multiplies by length and quantity, then applies the density of the selected metal. Tube and square-tube figures use the wall thickness to subtract the hollow center. Angle uses the standard leg-plus-leg-minus-thickness section area, which is a close approximation for hot-rolled and laser-formed angle.
